Forum Title: Venting About Non-Gratitude
Just would like to vent, probably the worst part of this job is non-gratitude. Nothing is worse than a customer who never tells you did a good job, after literally killing yourself in the hot sun for a month, trying extra especially hard to make the house come out perfect, and almost doing it. Sometimes they will just look at it, not even smile, and walk away. I work alone so it is even harder. One time I completed a large 2 story house, very difficult in one of the hottest months of the year. The job came out perfect. As I was picking up after getting paid on the last day, I waved to them bye as they were pulling out in their truck to go somewhere, they just looked at me, didn't even wave, and pulled away. I was nice to them the whole time. Maybe some people look down on the painter. I also noticed that some people must end all relations on a negative note. They cannot shake hands and say nice to have met you, they will find a way to talk bad about you or something. Now, this has only happened a couple of hand fulls of times in 10 years or more, but it is real bad when it does. Every time makes me want to quit and go get a job!, haha
